XML GRITS is written in JAVA and uses XML based text files for data storage. This multi-platform version is perfect for people running Windows, Linux or MAC Operating systems.
GRITS.XML needs no accessory database or utilities, only java installed
Using the same underlying design ideas and concepts and the windows Multi-Project GRITS version, XML GRITS let’s you:
- Create Multiple Projects on a single machine
- Each project is stored independently of the other, separating project data and tasks clearly into their own respective areas.
- Record and link each project’s information in a central area, eliminating hours of searching when things are lost.
- Save individual Project Meetings, Literature Reviews and Research Data together in their own separate project areas, including links to meeting agendas and literature review web sites or book review.
- Create project related dictionary terms and phrases.
- Keep ongoing task lists on project by project basis.
- Use the user-configurable Navigator tree project data into logical sets or groups.
- Create links between related or similar data items
XML GRITS 2005 makes managing multiple projects easy and is available for Windows, Linux and MAC operating systems. Figure 1 shows the XML GRITS running, with the Navigator in the background and open Meeting, Literature Review and Task forms.

Figure 2 shows the XML GRITS Navigator. The Navigator forms the heart of the GRITS system. Use it to create manage, view and join data items together.
